Pluto & Uranus: Revolution in Harmony
The Dance of Distributed Power in the Digital Age

We are living at the threshold of a rare harmony between two of the most powerful forces in astrology: Pluto, the agent of deep transformation, and Uranus, the awakener. They are beginning a three-year dance in harmony. This is not the energy of upheaval. It is the energy of synchronized revolution — innovation aligning with the power of transformation, and power embedded in distributed structures.
Pluto has moved into Aquarius and Uranus will move into Gemini on April 26 of this year. The Planets Uranus and Pluto will be forming harmonious aspects with one another over the next 3 years! In this article I would like to dig a little deeper into the current world transits related to these two planets. These are Archetypal wave forms that surge into the psyche of humanity. They will be moving in and out of a Trine aspect to one another through 2029. A trine is when two planets are 120° apart from each other, the energies between the 2 planets tend to flow easily.
Each of these two planets signify change. Change from Pluto brings a metamorphosis; its energies are slow, powerful, and long lasting. Change from Uranus energies will be sudden, quick, unpredictable and extreme. When Pluto and Uranus form conjunctions or squares, history tends to erupt. When they form trines, history tends to settle down and move forward.
Historically
Before we dive into the current world transits let’s explore Pluto/Uranus transits for the past 100 years. We can get a feel for how these planets have been working together in the past. When the Planets are together (conjunct or 0°-3° apart) the energies blend to work together. When the Planets are Squared to one another (90° apart) it creates a tension between how the planets want to operate. Historically when these two planets are in a conjunction or a square, they create upheaval.
- 1896-1907- Uranus and Pluto were Conjunct (meaning they appeared to be next to each other in the sky) – These years were a crucible of progressive reform, labor struggles, women’s rights campaigns, racial justice organizing, anti-colonial resistance, and early socialist movements, laying much of the groundwork for the upheavals of the 20th century. During this period Uranus and Pluto are working together to create reforms. Mostly nonviolent.
- 1928-1937 -Uranus square Pluto – India’s Independence movement lead by Gandhi. The rise of Fascism in Europe with Hitler and Mussolini coming into power. Here in the US Labor unrest initiated the National Labor Relations Act in 1935 guaranteeing the unions right to collective bargaining. Gandhi’s Salt March (1930) galvanized India’s independence movement. Activists continued to push for an Equal Rights Amendment in the U.S. The Great Depression occurred in 1929. During this period, we see the rise of the Dictators and the rights of the individuals are being threatened.
- 1962 – 1970 Uranus conjunct Pluto – Civil Rights Act (1964) and Voting Rights Act (1965) outlawed segregation and protected voting rights. There were anti war and peace movements, women’s liberation movements, counterculture and youth movements, Indian rights movement, gay rights movement, environmental movements. During this period, we can see Uranus’s need for freedom going up against the entrenched power structures.
- 2007 – 2020 – Uranus squares Pluto – In 2011 there were various global uprisings around the world, Police brutality causing riots, uprisings, fighting for Indian rights and lands, environmental protest. In 2008 we had the financial crisis and Occupy Wall Street. Black Lives Matter and the Me-Too movement were created. LGBTQ+ rights movement and gay marriage legalized.
If I had to summarize, when Pluto and Uranus are squared there is more energy toward taking power away from the people. When Pluto and Uranus are Conjunct, the energies seem to work toward giving power back to the people.
When Pluto and Uranus clash, history erupts. When they harmonize, history evolves
Let’s compare these inharmonious periods to a period when Pluto and Uranus were in harmony with one another. The last time Pluto was Trine Uranus was 1918 till 1926. In the Chart below the peaks show when the energy from this transit is strongest. During this period Pluto was in the sign of Cancer and Uranus was in Pisces. This Trine is in Water signs. Pluto in Cancer energies would center around homeland, nationalism, family systems, tribal identity. Uranus in Pisces energies would bring about artistic experimentation, studies in our inner world and out outer worlds, mystical awakenings. The interplay of these two would bring transformation and innovations.
Let’s explore this period to see if we can get some hints as to what might happen under our current world transit.
- In 1918 WW1 had just ended. This led to an exuberance and joy for the end of the war and our troops returning home. This help build a new nationalism.
- In 1920 the 19th amendment was passed giving the women the right to vote fueling further activism in politics, education, and professional life.
- The Equal Rights Amendment was introduced in 1923 but not ratified. **
- New movements in art such as Surrealism and Modern Art.
- The 1920’s were fueled by booming industrial production, especially automobiles, planes, radios, telephones, and household appliances. The Ford Company introduced mass production of automobiles, making them more attainable by the average consumer.
- Radio and films were introduced creating shared cultural experiences across large populations.
- Youth culture rebelled in the Roaring 20’s: shorter skirts, dancing, cocktails, freer attitudes toward sex and dating. Prohibition was enacted (1920–1933), though meant to enforce morality, ironically created speakeasies and a rebellious nightlife culture.
- Quantum theory developments.
- Studies in consciousness take hold.
It seems that during this period where Uranus and Pluto are in a Trine aspect (120° apart) we see a lot of good forward movement.
**I found this interesting during my research, the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) has never been fully ratified in the US. It needed to be approved by all 50 states and to date it is only ratified by 38 states. The ERA was written primarily to guarantee women full constitutional equality, but its language protects all people from sex-based legal discrimination.
Currently
Unlike the tension-filled squares of the early 20th and early 21st centuries, we are now entering a rare moment of archetypal cooperation.
The good news is Pluto and Uranus will be in the harmonious Trine aspect 6 times between now and 2029! You can see this in the chart below. The black vertical line shows where we are today. Then the peaks show where the Trine between Uranus and Pluto is the strongest.
These harmonious aspects can influence big shifts in consciousness, big advances in technology, such as AI, and vehicles and transportation, communication technologies such as our phones, and computers. As the energy builds to form the peaks the harmony will grow, as we move toward the valleys between the peaks the harmony will not be as strong.
Pluto, the planet of power and transformation, has just come out of the sign of Capricorn which is an earth sign that likes to build and likes permanence. During this time, we saw the surge of mega-corporations and government of extraction where the government’s primary function is to extract resources, wealth, or labor from the people rather than serving or representing them. It was about amassing power and control. As we move further into Aquarius this influence will wane. In Aquarius it is more concerned with the rights of the people. Pluto in Aquarius transforms power through collective systems rather than hierarchies. Where Capricorn wanted to build towers, Aquarius wants to dissolve the walls. While Capricorn builds hierarchies, Aquarius wants distributed structures.
Uranus in Gemini will influence technology such as AI, communications, and education, and vehicles. It is also working to support the influences that Pluto is trying to make in Aquarius. Due to the internet, social media platforms and AI information can be distributed much faster to the people. Although discernment is needed. We may still be involved in revolutions, but it will be done in a more harmonious way and maybe not a violent way. We will start to see the breakdown of old structures but not through revolution, it may seem to come about as more of an energetic shift or an economic necessity.
This time the Trine is in Air signs. Now information will become powerful, but not in the way it has been used. In the past the powerful learned to use information as a weapon and control. Information had to come from the top down. With the advent of the new technologies such as the internet, AI, social media, information is distributed and available faster to the masses. This will be a massive shift as this type of power will be decentralized.
This is why we are seeing a race to see who can control the AI models.
The question is do we ride the energetic wave of these influences to see where they take us or do we struggle and grasp to hold on to the old structures? Whether this period becomes harmonious progress or subtle upheaval depends on how consciously we engage it. Trines offer opportunities but they still require participation.
The coming revolutions may not look like rebellion — they may look like evolution

During this period, you will be re-evaluating your long-term goals. Expect changes in your friends, groups and associations under this aspect. Activities you once enjoyed you may no longer care for. You may encounter someone who can impact your life in a positive way. But make sure the person you get infatuated with is using their power for good. Unexpected things may occur with neighbors, siblings, people in your close environment. The tempo or your life may speed up. You will need to stay flexible. Your mind will become sharper. Look for flashes of insight. Pay attention to the details in communication, this can have a positive impact for you. If you are into social media this may be a good time to expand your reach. May also bring in new relationships that are positive for you.
Taurus Rising or Taurus Sun
During this period, you may be making transformation to your public image. This is a great time to make your mark on the world. Pluto is giving you the power to achieve your goals. It will heighten your ambitions during this time. If you have been thinking about making career changes, this is a good period to do it in. You may have unexpected changes in your personal finances during this period, either up or down. This is a good time to reflect on what you value and what is important to you. You may want to look at investments in technology during this time.
Gemini Rising or Gemini Sun
This will be big for you since Uranus is in your sign! You may want to rebel and make changes in who you are, your style, your living situation, your relationships. You will break away from anything holding you back. `It’s a great time to explore new things. You may study a new type of philosophy or religion. During this period you may also find your world view changing. You will be more interested in looking at things in a new way and open to new experiences. Long distance travel could be transformative at this time. What ever you do, you will be a new person after this, in a good way!
Cancer Rising or Sun
This will be a good time to really dig into finances or debt. You may have new ideas about investing or about shared resources. During this period, you could take an interest into the occult or hidden mysteries. You may be curious about spiritual/religious beliefs and study some thing new. You might suddenly get an urge to go on retreat somewhere. You might see relationships in a new light. Possible manifestations include sudden events that are clearly the result of your past actions. Be aware of any compulsive tendencies that you may have now. Hidden things and secrets may be brought to light. It’s a good time to keep a journal as you may be getting flashes of insights during this transit. It’s a time when you may change how you think about spiritual or religious beliefs, or your philosophy on life.
Leo Rising or Sun Sign
Relationships of all kinds will be going through transformation. You may be attracted to new groups or associations of friends that are different than who you hung out with in the past. This will be positive for you. Your life may be transformed by a close encounter with another person. Try to avoid power struggles during this period. If you are an entrepreneur, it may not be a good time to start a new business when the transit is in full effect. Look at the time of the valleys in the chart above to start new relationships, partnerships or contracts. Business could fluctuate up or down.
Virgo Rising or Sun Sign
This is a good time to take a look at your health. Under this transit you can totally regenerate your body if you follow a proper regimen. Another good use of this energy is to change jobs if you are unhappy with what you are doing. Freedom in your career will be important to you. Pluto’s energy can help you transform into something you want to do. With Uranus energy will support you in making a job or career change. You may get a sudden opportunity to do something new! Your views at work could be viewed as eccentric or outside of the box.
Libra Rising or Sun Sign
This is a powerful placement that may impact children, romance, and creativity. The nature of your relationship with your children may go through transformation. There could be a new romantic attraction during this period. You may find it to be emotionally intense. You may find yourself drawn to new creative activities during this period. But be wary of taking on too much risk at this time. This will be a great time to expand your world view. Travel may be a catalyst for changing your views. Unexpected travel may occur during this time. If you teach, this is a good time to share your knowledge.
Scorpio Rising or Sun
There will be a transformation around your home or family life. You may change where you live, or renovate or update your home. Sagittarius Rising or Sun
There will be a focus on transformation around communication, neighbors, siblings, daily business and routines. Changes may be triggered by circumstances in your immediate environment. Short trips and travel may have more impact in your life. Education may take on more importance. If you have been wanting to learn something new, now is a good time. There could be unexpected changes in personal relationships, partnerships, contracts, or legal matters. You may be offered a new partnership or unexpected changes to existing partnerships may come up. If things come up in these areas, now is a good time to take care of them.
Capricorn Rising or Sun Sign
During this period, you may see unexpected, sudden changes in your job or relationships around your workplace. You may seek more freedom around work. How you think about money, how you make money, things you value may go through a transformation during this time.
Aquarius Rising or Sun Sign
