Meet the Founder, Dr. Maryann Miller, and find out how it all began.
If we haven’t met, I’m Dr. Maryann Miller, Founder and President of the Institute for Global Transformation™. My days are divided between my love and work for humanity and the planet with the IFGT, and my three amazing children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. They keep me busy teaching me new technology and going to fun places.
My spiritual journey began back in 1971. I have studied different Western Spiritual traditions for over 50 years. During that time, my numerous studies led me to information and techniques I needed to effectively create a happy, healthy, loving, and purposeful life. I soon learned, however, that I wanted to share what I had learned. I wanted to give back, pay it forward, and join those who were helping to make the world a better place for everyone.
Soon, my love for helping each person achieve personal transformations in consciousness and mastering their lives became my life purpose. In 2002, I founded the Institute for Global Transformation™ and along with our exceptionally talented Board, consisting of creative evolutionaries, it became a 501(c)(3), not for profit in 2005.
What you may not know about me.
I am an artist. This is an oil of the first cannery on Monterey Bay’s Cannery Row. A hotel now stands on this property.
Although I’m only a novice, I absolutely love quantum physics and Schrodinger’s Split Screen Experiment
I’ve snorkeled some of the most famous spots in the world. I had an unforgettable experience with a sea turtle so the turtle is very special to me.
I have solo hand-glided. Although I crashed several times, I lived to try again.
I’ve explored lava tunnels on the Big Island of Hawaii and was fortunate to experience its sacred sites with Pila of Hawaii. The Big Island is a great place to visit and explore.
I also love to write and am an internationally published author.
Other than my awesome family, my main passion is the Institute for Global Transformation™. Being of service to humanity is my purpose in life and I’m dedicated to our amazing Change-Makers community and the classes and programs designed to help each of us become our very best selves.

- Certified Nature of the Soul Teacher, having taken Nature of the Soul, Teacher Training, and Advanced Teacher Training, from Georgia Lambert.

I’ve met so many inspirational people and found satisfying answers to my questions about consciousness, life, love, death, purpose, and why I am here. I’ve had the opportunity to share all of this with those who find their way to our website and with the thousands of others I’ve had the honor of meeting.
The Institute was founded to connect everyone who searched for answers to life’s big questions, who wanted to give back, who had an inspirational message or service they wanted to share, and who were willing to join together with others to help make the world a better place for everyone.
It has been my experience that, in order to reach out and connect in ways that are meaningful and make things happen, you need to be a team player, a good listener, and mindful of others’ creative ideas. Gathering together this group of talented, creative visionaries was very important to the framework that has allowed the Institute to grow organically into what it has become today.
I also believe it’s important to learn how to surf the winds of creative ideas and change, which is what we did and continue to do. Surfing requires one to be very aware and mindful, retain balance, perspective, and persevere. This is how the Institute has continued to move forward and grow. As we continue our forward momentum, we’re always open to change. Allowing each interested party a voice in the growth of our community has served us well over the years.
It’s been an exciting journey, one which we continue to explore and treasure. We continue to add talented, gifted, transformational leaders to our administrative team and each of our members brings creativity and wisdom that helps us continue to grow the Institute. We value each of them for their support, dedication, wisdom, and service to humanity and the planet. They are amazing and I’m grateful for each one of them!
