A retrograde occurs whe
n a planet appears to be moving backward in the sky from our perspective on Earth. When Mercury goes retrograde, communication can become less straightforward. Messages may be delayed, misunderstandings can arise, technology glitches may become more noticeable, and plans made during this time often need adjustment later. Contracts signed under this influence benefit from extra review, as details may need to be revisited. People from our past may also reappear during this cycle.
This Mercury rtrograde occurs in the sign of Cancer. Cancer is deeply connected to memory, emotional roots, and the past. Because of this, you may find yourself feeling more nostalgic or reflective, revisiting old memories or seeing past experiences through a new lens.
There is also a Mercury shadow period that begins roughly two weeks before the retrograde and continues for about two weeks after it ends.
Personally, I have already been feeling this energy. Over the past week, I have noticed moments when I cannot quite find the right word, or my typing is not as sharp as usual. I have also found myself reflecting on events from my past and seeing them in a completely new light. At first, I wondered why this was happening so suddenly. Then I realized Mercury was preparing to go retrograde in Cancer.
Mercury retrograde is not always about disruption. Sometimes it is life’s way of slowing us down so we can notice what we missed the first time.
