Is Astrology a Gamble?

If the Universe is random—are following planetary energy cycles something of a gamble for us? Why should we pay attention to them if they’re wholly unpredictable? Then again, there are a multitude of varying interpretations. It feels chaotic. In the midst of chaos, shall we speculate or shall we take the opportunity to create—like never before.

Albert Einstein famously said, “God does not play dice with the Universe” to express his view that there is order and structure and predictability in the Universe. No gamble involved. The ever-mysterious Source Creator set it all up rationally. Many say this was also a statement of his disdain for quantum mechanics. The quantum view of the Universe being inherently chaotic, random and probabilistic clearly did not fit the “orderly” picture.

To QuantumThink this, it truly is a Both/And.

I bring this up now in the context of The Great Shift which has been prophesied from ancient to modern times. Sages and saints, poets and philosophers, seers and astrologers foretold of this time. Does the fact that it has been prophesied also mean we can predict how it will play out? It truly is a Both/And. Let’s be clear. For us, it’s here. The forces of change are in gear. We’re already in it. We are part of it. The quantum paradox: We are co-creative forces having it happen.

As I reflect upon the revolution in culture, in commerce and in consciousness that is already well underway, Bob Dylan’s classic song (of his many masterpieces ) comes to mind.

Written in 1964, one marvels at his prescience. And yet, regardless of our levels of clairvoyance, with assistance from the planets and their energy waves, we too are granted foresight—and insight.

Tune in to any good astrologer and you are likely to hear a rundown of all the dramatic, life altering planetary transits that have taken place during the past two years. You hear “this year/month/day is a doozie! Well, maybe they don’t use that exact terminology : ) I’m using it to give you a sense that each interpretation and prediction forecasts a huge, intense kicking up of energy shifts that are creating our new world.

Looking at the Universe, from an astrological perspective, even planetary chaos seems to have order to it. Oh, but of course it does! Astrology is one of the grand systems of our Universe. The gift is great and yet it must be adhered to with respect.

Astrological Due Diligence

In business, we are admonished to “due diligence” to prepare astutely for change. It also behooves us to do “astrological due diligence” to prepare ourselves for change. What might that look like?

  • The shift of the concentration of elements from Earth and Water into Air and Fire. Air (new thinking) fans the Fire (fast action).
  • The shift of the nodes after 18 months from Mutable signs of Virgo and Pisces into Fixed signs of Leo and Aquarius.

Bring your gifts to the world. It’s the dawning of the Age of Aquarius! Take action. Be yourself. Not the old self. Be your new self. Most of all, take action now.

These energies bring novel times, different times than we’ve been accustomed to. Yes, it seems intense. It feels chaotic.

Consider this as a possibility for enjoying the ups and downs and zigs and zags and hyper-action and retreat to inner stillness that characterizes the chaos of changing times and awakening to new worlds.
Some astrologers describe each and every day as a major planetary event. Perhaps in the present earthly milieu and cosmic atmospheric conditions it feels like we’re having a birthday celebration every day. It’s new. It’s magical. It’s unexpected. It’s amazing.

The Great Shift is like having a birthday celebration daily for 2 and more years. Every day is a big surprise if you see it that way. Like a child you are filled with glee and expectation of something exciting when you are brought a gift every day.

Imagine it. Chaos is part of the fabric of the Universe. The era is new. It’s a time of chaos. There is order in the chaos. Knowing this, we can love it! What a hoot! <>
