Application-based Education (ABE)

Dr. Rashidi offers information, insights, and educational material to youth about the basic skills needed to become conscious stewards of technology. It is our intention to develop stimulating conversations and activities that empower our youth to work toward using science and technology to improve quality of life, medicine, and the environment in order to create a sustainable world and, ultimately, to aid in the upliftment of humanity.

Dr. Rashidi believes that application-based education (ABE), in which learners are exposed to real products, services, opportunities, and visions of existing academic disciplines (fields of education), is an approach that helps everyone discover their preferred field of study, along with their individual passion and talent. This discovery can initiate the ignition for developing the excitement and love of learning that is an important nourishment that needs to flourish.

Dr. Rashidi wants to assist today’s youth as they begin to make life and career decisions in engineering and science. His expert insights create a vision for students to learn more efficiently about their majors, research, related academic and industrial projects, related careers, and trends.

Integration of STEM Learning into ABE Learning

STEM LearningScience, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs should be integrated into application-based education (ABE) to illustrate the real application of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in specific areas, in which learners are interested and choose to follow, rather than providing pure STEM education that generally makes them squeamish. This approach provides learners with the knowledge and skills required for the career that they seek.

Dr. Rashidi promotes application-based education (ABE) to enhance the excitement and love of learning that provides creative solutions and innovative ideas to address humanity’s grand challenges. His deep desire to help today’s youth find their passion in the fields of Engineering and Science has led him to create the Practical Engineering and Science for Youth program.
