Underlying any transformational business is the power to innovate and create a better future.

Much of innovation management focuses on the mechanics of innovation. While this addresses process, oftentimes the required culture surrounding the innovation process is not established – resulting in a lack of shared meaning and unexpected breakdowns in the mechanics.

This talk looks at our situation in the current social time line, the idea of Vital Innovation, and six key elements to driving an innovation culture. It describes the persona of an Innovative, a person who is willing to take on leadership in their community using innovation to bring forth a better future.

The presentation was held by IFGT Business Branch Chair and Roundtable member Philip Horvath in the context of a Brightidea.com Birds of a Feather peer-to-peer innovation leader meeting at Sony in San Diego in August 2010.
